Solar Panel & Rooftop Solar FAQ

Answers to the most frequently asked questions about solar systems. Can't find what you're looking for? Contact our team.

How long can solar panels last?
The solar panels we use come with a 12-year product warranty and up to 30 years of performance warranty. Even after 30 years, the panels still produce about 87% of their original output.
Is solar still effective during cloudy or rainy weather?
Yes, solar panels still generate electricity when it is cloudy, just at lower efficiency. Hybrid systems with batteries keep power flowing 24/7. Our annual projections already account for weather variation.
How much investment is needed for solar?
Investment varies depending on the capacity and type of solar system needed. For residential with On-Grid systems, starting from IDR 20-150 million (1-10 kWp). This investment will pay off and provide benefits for the next 30 years. We provide detailed financial simulations for each solar system proposal.
What is the installation process for home solar?
The process starts from free site survey, technical design, PLN permit processing, material procurement, installation, commissioning, and training. Total time from contract to system operation is a few weeks depending on complexity and permit process.
Does solar require special maintenance?
Solar systems are relatively low maintenance. Just panel cleaning and routine system checks. We provide annual maintenance packages and 24/7 monitoring to ensure optimal performance. Inverters may need replacement during the 30-year operation period.
What about PLN permits for on-grid systems?
We will handle all PLN permit processes, exim kWh meter installation, and operational eligibility certificate (SLO). The process takes 2-6 weeks depending on the area and document completeness.
What is energy transition and how do rooftop solar panels contribute?
Energy transition is the shift from fossil energy (coal, oil, gas) to renewable sources like solar, wind, and hydro. Indonesia targets 23% renewable energy by 2025. Rooftop solar is the most direct way for homeowners and businesses to participate : every solar panel installed reduces dependence on fossil-fuel power plants.
How long is the ROI for rooftop solar?
For Indonesian households, rooftop solar ROI averages 5-7 years. After that, electricity from your panels is free for the remaining 20-25 years of the panel warranty. Monthly savings can reach 30-50% of your electricity bill.
How many solar panels for a 1300VA home?
A 1,300VA home typically needs 3-4 solar panels at 630Wp each (about 2 kWp total). This can cover 40-60% of daily electricity usage. The exact number depends on your consumption habits, roof size, and sun direction at your location. Use our calculator for a more precise estimate.
Can I install solar on a rented house?
Technically yes, but it's not recommended since solar panels are a long-term investment permanently mounted on the roof. If you're renting, discuss it with the property owner first. Some leasing companies offer rental solar schemes that may be more flexible.
Can solar power run AC and large appliances?
Yes. A properly sized solar system can run air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, and other large appliances. The key is calculating your total daily consumption and designing the system accordingly. Consult our team for an optimal design.
Can I sell excess solar electricity to PLN?
Net metering is not yet widely available in Indonesia. Excess power from rooftop solar cannot be sold to PLN. However, an on-grid system still saves you money because solar power replaces PLN electricity during the day. Adding a battery to a hybrid system lets you store excess power instead.
How much can I save per month with solar?
Savings vary by system size and usage patterns. For homes with Rp 1-2 million monthly bills, savings can reach 30-50%, or about Rp 300,000 to Rp 1,000,000 per month. Larger systems save more. Use our solar calculator for a personalized estimate.
How do I claim the solar panel warranty?
Solar panel warranties come in two types: product warranty (12 years) and performance warranty (30 years). If you experience damage or below-standard performance, contact our team. We'll inspect your system and handle the claim with the manufacturer. Claims are typically resolved within 2-4 weeks.
Can extreme weather damage solar panels?
Modern solar panels are designed to withstand heavy rain, strong winds, and small hail. Our panels pass IEC-standard durability tests. However, proper installation by professional technicians is essential for maximum protection. That's why we always conduct a site survey before installation.
